One fic and one possible series

I have tried all sorts of keywords to find this one, and what's bugging me the most is that I can only vaguely remember part of it. One of the seven (I think it's Ezra) definitely Old West, and he ends up hurt (beaten? shot?) and tossed in the town's trash heap. Something about putting trash in its place. He's fixated on an old broken chair and ends up fixing the chair once he's found and well again. For the life of me I can't remember the circumstances around it! FOUND!
The other one is part of a series, I think. I know it's not NotTasha's excellent Southbridge series, which I've just finished rereading to make sure. Ezra and Josiah or Vin have a very close relationship, I don't think it's slash, and it's centered around a gorge or river in the desert outside of town. I know that at one point Ezra is running up the river to hide his footprints trying to get back to town, but that's really all I can remember. I want to say that the river was called the Banyon or something close, but I may be confusing it with NotTasha's river.
