After reading Rebecca's Reading of the Will it occured to me that I had read something similar, with Lincoln Larrabee as the father of the seven.  I don't remember who the author is, or the name of the story, but I do remember that Ezra works for a company that specializes in breaking into banks as a means of testing their security.  By the end of the story we find out that Ezra is very ill, and needs surgery, and that's where it ends,  Do any of you remember it and was there ever a conclusion to the story?

Edit: I just found out that Michelle started the universe, but I wasn't able to find any of her stories.  This computer keeps acting strange.  Could it be her?
